Use this action to change the name of the complex. The
complex name is used to identify the complex, and is displayed in all Partition Manager
views. Choose a name that will be meaningful to all administrators of the complex,
and is not already used to identify a different complex (Partition Manager does not
check whether the complex name is unique).
Change the Complex Name
There is only one field to fill in.
Complex Name
From one to 20 characters can be used, made up of the following
characters:
alphabetics (a-z,
A-Z);
numerics (0-9);
underscore (_);
hyphen (-);
period (.);
and the space character.
This field is initialized with the
currently assigned complex name. If you set the complex name to be
only the space character, Partition Manager
will set the complex name as (unnamed).
Enter the new complex name, or accept the default name provided, and click
[OK]. The new name will be assigned to the complex and
stored in the Complex Profile. A confirmation screen will
show you the command that was executed to change the complex name.
If you do not want to change the complex name, click
[Cancel]. The complex name will remain unchanged.
Required Permissions
In order to change the complex name, you must have permission to modify the
Stable Complex Configuration Data. You must be logged into
Partition Manager using one of the following methods.
You are running the Partition Manager server on an
nPartition, managing the local complex. You must be
logged in to Partition Manager with Administrator
(root) privileges and the
nPartition Configuration Privilege must be
unrestricted. Refer to the configuration privilege help topic for more
information.
You are managing a remote partitionable complex using IPMI, and you have provided the
IPMI password for the service processor of the complex.
